Thats pretty amazing. And some people think there's no place for video games like this.... I remember being so excited for Heavy Rain releasing ( almost 8 years ago ) and just telling all my friends how excited I was to play it. I said Ill do anything to find my son and boy did this game challenge me.
When I finally played it, I couldnt believe how visually incredible everything looked, but also how engaging the story was, along with how interesting the characters were. I refused to kill that drug dealer, as Ethan, in the drug dealers kids bedroom & didnt get clues to my sons location ( which made me an emotional wreck ) and than when my son died in the end. Hearing the man say something like Please, Ive got kids, i wanna see em again, and sobs i thought I wanna save my son, but not this way. This man has a family too.

In one of the last scenes, after I failed to save Shaun, Ethan shot himself at Shaun's grave, with Madison standing a few feet back. I screamed Ethan, Nooo just like her lol. Say what you will, but the game was an emotional experience beyond anything Id ever experienced before in a game, at the time. Like David Cage said We want to challenge the player, in their mind, not on the stick that they did.

In the end, I cried myself to sleep, no joke, because I couldnt believe I wasnt willing to go far enough to save my son. QD, for me, accomplished their goal with the game.

Much love to Quantic Dream for crafting one of the best/most engaging games of the last generation & ever. I believe Detroit has the potential to be their best game to date.
