To be honest so far it looks to be a way to get Microsofts first party content far more attention than they originally wouldve received.

Lets not forget that most of their longtime flagship franchises are experiencing diminishing returns in sales and they have yet to establish a new flagship IP this entire generation.

What better way to get this fact out of peoples minds than offering all future first party titles day one release on Xbox Game Pass to make them seem more enticing? You can accomplish that and seemingly make big waves in the industry from that announcement alone, which is a win-win situation for Microsoft.

It remains to be seen if a lot of third part publishers would want to be on board with day one releases on Xbox Game Pass, especially since majority of them arent even willing to give up extra revenue to embrace Microsofts Play Anywhere initiative.
